Exciting News from Art i Bobl: My Shop is Live!

Su’mae, hello everyone!

If you're receiving this, you're one of the special few I've shared my passion project with early on. I'm Christian McCale, the artist behind Art i Bobl—that's "Art for People" in Welsh, because that's exactly what I create: accessible, heartfelt art inspired by the places and culture that make my heart sing. After months of sketching, testing, and tweaking, I'm thrilled to announce that artibobl.com is officially live! You can now dive into my collections of watercolour line-and-wash paintings, Welsh pride designs, and some of my favourite, carefully selected impressionist gems turned into everyday treasures.

What am I about? At its core, Art i Bobl celebrates the beauty of North Wales—think the historic charm of Caergwrle, the vibrant spirit of Welsh language and heritage, and a nod to timeless artists like Van Gogh, all wrapped in products that bring joy to your home, wardrobe, or desk. Whether you're a local from Flintshire, a Wrexham wanderer, or just someone who loves art with a story, there's something here for you. From canvas prints capturing Caergwrle's castle to hoodies emblazoned with incidental Welsh phrases, my goal is to make art feel close, affordable, and unpretentious. Prices start at just £2 for postcards, with gifts from £10 and hoodies from £33.50—because art shouldn't be locked in galleries; it belongs in your life.

I've already shared sneak peeks on my socials (follow me @artibobl on Instagram, Facebook and X). And earlier this week? Pure magic. My very first test order arrived: a cosy "Chwarae Teg" hoodie from the Bob Dydd Cymraeg collection (that's "Fair Play" for my non-Welsh speakers—perfect for everyday Welsh pride), a Van Gogh-inspired hair scrunchie from my Impressionist Inspiration gifts line, and embroidered patches from the Balchder Cymru range, shouting Welsh joy in every stitch. Slipping into that hoodie felt like wrapping myself in my own dreams. It's a reminder that this isn't just pixels on a screen—it's tangible, wearable art.

One hiccup that's kept me up at night? My standout product, the Caergwrle 2026 Wall Calendar, featuring 12 months of my watercolour scenes from the village's pubs, bridges, and castle. It's stunning, but the print-on-demand postage was as much as the calendar's price—daft, right? So, I'm rolling up my sleeves this week to create DIY graphics and self-print a limited run. Expect an update soon; it'll be even more special, handcrafted with love.

I've also whipped up designs for the O Yma place range—hoodies celebrating Hope and Caergwrle with that "I'm Here" vibe—plus a fresh Wrexham area print that's got me buzzing. And guess what? This weekend, I'll be at the Yes Cymru Annibyniaeth Day in Rhyl, proudly wearing my new hoodie and handing out my new Art i Bobl business cards to anyone who stops by. If you're there, say hi—I'd love to chat art, Wales, or why watercolours are magic.

Friends, this is just the start. I have only today shared with my nearest and dearest for likes and follows, but if you're reading this, consider yourself invited first. Head to artibobl.com, browse the collections, and grab something that sparks joy.

What's next? More patches, T-shirts in full Welsh glory, and I need to get busy with my own artwork. Hit reply with your thoughts—what product screams "you"? Or share this with a mate who needs a bit of Welsh warmth.

Diolch yn fawr—thanks a million. Let's make art for everyone.

Cwtsh a chreiddioldeb,

Christian McCale
